Waking Sleeping Beauty

Last week, I was lucky enough to attend a preview screening of the new documentary, WAKING SLEEPING BEAUTY. Its theatrical release date isn't for another month, but preview screenings are always fun. The documentary covers the Walt Disney Animation studio at the time of its Renaissance in the late 80's and 90's. Outwardly, it was a very exciting time (I remember these movies coming out every summer, they were huge events). But behind the scenes, it was a constant battle, one between the artists and executives, and conflict among the executives themselves.

I wrote a review, which has been published on ASIFA-East's Exposure Sheet. Actually, I need to point out that this is first time one of my reviews has been edited by someone other than myself. Richard Gorey replaced changed some of the wording, so its a little alien to me. But I shouldn't be too surprised by this. Most authors have to deal with editing. I'm learning this, and will have to learn it occasionally for survival. You can read the whole thing here.
